East Campus Traffic, Drop-Off and Parking

Senior & Middle School Drop-Off

To reduce traffic congestion on Elm Ave., instead of coming to 10 Elm Avenue for drop-off or pick-up, please consider dropping off or picking up your daughter on Sherbourne Street (north of Elm). Parents may also want to consider South Drive as an alternative location for student pick-up and drop-off. Construction limits vehicle entry into the #10 parking lot to employees only.

Parking

Parking spaces at Branksome Hall are very limited. There are a few visitor spaces in front of the Sherborne House (West Side), and NO spaces for student parking. Unauthorized parked vehicles, including student vehicles, will be subject to ticketing and/or towing. Repeat offenders may be subject to additional disciplinary action. There are several private and city parking lots within a 10-minute walk of the school.

Unfortunately, there is little parking in the Branksome Hall neighbourhood, and many areas have restrictions posted, including along Elm Avenue. The City enforces these restrictions and, on occasion, illegally parked vehicles are ticketed or towed away.

Parking Behind 10 Elm Avenue

Parents, guardians and visitors are reminded that only Branksome Hall employees’ vehicles may enter the parking lot behind 10 Elm Avenue, in front of the Middle School. This lot is for employees only, and may not be accessible to anyone for parts of the year, due to construction.

Transportation

We encourage families to find alternatives to driving students to school whenever possible. Walking, biking, carpooling and public transit may be viable alternatives. The subway stations closest to Branksome Hall are Sherbourne and Bloor/Yonge. To encourage the use of the TTC by Senior and Middle School students, we sell TTC tickets in The Shop.

Traffic

The school has taken measures to minimize traffic congestion at drop-off and pick-up times. Please keep our students safe by obeying these guidelines:

  1. Please pay attention to pedestrians on campus and on surrounding streets.
  2. No honking or gestures.
  3. Be respectful of our staff members directing traffic.
  4. Consider our neighbours. Don’t block driveways.
  5. Do not arrive more than 10 minutes prior to pick-up.
  6. Senior and Middle School pick-up location is on the East Campus only. Do not park on the West Campus to pick up Senior & Middle School students, as this adds to congestion for Junior School families.
  7. Do not use the West Campus as a turning circle for the East Campus.
  8. No standing or parking on Elm Avenue. Respect the traffic signs and do not create difficulty for emergency vehicles or our neighbours.
  9. No drop-off on Mount Pleasant Road. It’s not safe.
