Despite some grammar mistakes, this was a great mafia book!
I really loved both characters and how they both challenge each other was so thrilling, sexy and jaw dropping.
I see alot of myself in Katya, which made me love her even more. She is one of my favourite female characters.

UGH MY HEART
I’m not sure where to even start with this one.
Angelo and Katya’s story is one of my favorite. Probably one of the best I’ve read. I think the love between these two is intense. The spicy scenes are SPICY and the tension is fabulous.
The plot follows a card counter who finds herself entangled with the mob. I was so excited to read this story because of the unique plot, and it did not disappoint!
Anna outdid herself with this one. The writing in this story is beautiful l, it keeps you hooked and turning the pages to find out what happens next.
I absolutely loved this story and strongly recommend it.

Intensely thrilling and sexy!!
WOW! Talk about one hell of an intense story! I was enthralled by Katya right from the start. She’s one hell of a kickass woman with so much attitude, sass, smarts and fierceness. She had me utterly captivated and on the edge of my seat the whole story.
There was so much anger, pain and passion that it oozed off the pages. All the secrets, backstabbing and betrayal was nail biting to read.
Angelo is one hell of an alpha man with so much sexiness that you can’t help but fall for him. Katya and Angelo together will be unstoppable. And the sex scenes with them were explosive, panty melting and so freaking sexy.
With so many twists and turns throughout, suspense, mystery and all kinds of murder and mayhem, this story will get its hooks into you and never let go.
I can’t wait for more from this amazing author!

A fun twist to mafia with a card shark and multiple mafia bosses. From chapter one you are hooked into the darker side of the mafia and then when Katya enters the scene it’s adds a whole new feel. Love her I do what I want attitude and her brains! She’s also super loyal and independent. This makes for a lot of push and pull between characters. There is some backstabbing, some hot hot hot sexy times, graphic violence and a twisted web of intrigue that keeps you glued to the pages. One of the most enjoyable mafia books I have read in a while.

So, I had few sneak peeks of this book from the author and I had a feeling this would be an amazing book for sure. But my god! It's not just amazing, this is legit ONE HELL OF A F***ING PHENOMENAL STORY!!
I think im already having a girl crush on Katya because damn she is not only strong but bold af, which is really sexy and hot. She is like the perfect match for Angelo.
And when it comes to the overall story, it's a page Turner! Every page keeps you hooked to the story and the twist and turns gets you more invested with what's gonna happen. And I can't even start to describe how hot those sex scenes were. FULL ON FIRE, just like the couple.
In one word : MUST READ (okay that's two words)

What’s not to love about a Mafia, age-gap story that involved a fierce take no crap FMC and a sexy hardcore H.
Loved the story line with the card counting. Anna did a great job of keeping me interested with the suspense and twists. Can’t wait to read more by her.

Good mafia read
This was a great twist on the mafia romance genre. Katya is a fabulous strong and sassy character. I loved how she stood up to those around her. Angelo is definitely the typical alpha mafia man but with some twists. The story has plenty of suspense and takes many turns. A very good mafia read.

I was on the edge of my seat for this entire book! Katya was such an awesome character, I loved her strength and sass! She didn’t back down from anyone no matter what, despite what was good for her. Angelo is my newest book boyfriend. Just, yes please. 🥵 This is a great read and I couldn’t put it down!

I just feel like this book had so much wasted potential.
I did love Katya as a character but her first impression as a really ballsy and confident person just failed to be consistent through the book for me. (Side note: I did absolutely love the fact that she studies maths so bonus points for that)
The romance in this just felt extremely insta-lovey to me which bugs me a lot. The overall story lacked drama for me like all of the events in this book didn't surprise me at all. It wasn't boring but it wasn't exciting.
This wasn't a bad book, it just wasn't the best I've read. I don't feel like this book added anything to my life. I would give this author another chance though.

it's one of my favourite mafia books i've read the past decade.
and hell, i didn't expect to say this phrase again in my life.
where to start and what to say.
"I might not play hard to get, Angelo, but I sure as hell am hard to earn".
katya has exactly what it takes to be:
a. a female protagonist in a mafia book
b. the woman worth standing next to a man of the cosa nostra
she was manipulative, had gallons of charisma, cheated her way through life to manage to stay on top, matched everyone she met and annihilated them and above all showed an excellent representation of a highly independent woman who choked on her pride.
she was amazingly morally grey, she was highly intelligent, she was hot as fucking hell.
I’d always been too much of a hedonist and can’t resist gorging myself through pleasures. And Katya is one of the wickedest pleasures that taunts me every single day.
angelo. holy mobsters. blah blah blah he was hot as sin blah blah blah he fucked like the god of sadism.
you know what else made him a god of a character?
he had clear motives, you knew where his morals lie and why, he was high-handed, he was power thirsty, he was brilliant, he was what every single capo needs to be in order to be as feared as he was.
and guess what? he was a capodecina.

there wasn't a moment where i felt like their love story lacked depth, or passion or that dark aura these books need to have to keep you enthralled.
every encounter they had, every conversation, every glance, it was filled to the brim with chemistry & that feeling that no else could have what they have.
I laugh and cup her cheek. “Don’t lower your expectations to fit in. You were born to stand out, little girl.”
i can write fifty poems about her exceptional writing voice but i'll take a minute to praise her brilliant plot.
despite having the same old themes in it it did read like a completely refreshing book. i loved how the author really didn't scare away from describing the inner details of how angelo worked, or how the card games worked, how intricate the investment techniques they do really are.
the plot kept me on my toes,
their questioning decisions thrilled me to such an extent i had forgotten how to cope,
and that third act? what wonders are made of.
and i loved it.

everything was cohesive, intense and so well- written.
and for a standalone?
*whistles*

did i need 10 more chapters after the third act breakup just to satisfy my need for more katya&angelo? yes.
did she manage for it to work despite the lack of said 10 chapters?

i'm impressed, i'm excited & so enamoured with anna's mafia world & writing i want to binge her books one by one immediately.
p.s. is there anything hotter than reading about a man quite as powerful as angelo playing in the casino with easily 200 thousand dollars? yes. reading about him & katya completely annihilating everyone in it. what. a. scene.

My god, I finished Royal Flush last night but could not find the words to properly convey the emotions I’m feeling in regards to the story.
First and foremost- I loved the characters names!
Names can make or break a story and Katya and Angelo were so perfect for their characters. Fitting, refreshing, different. At some point, with so many mob romances on the market, all your Dante’s and Salvatore’s are starting to blend together, that’s why I particularly enjoyed new names!
Anna Widzisz knows how to weave a story with many layers- that‘s for sure. She has a grip on the vastness of the feelings her characters are experiencing, not only her H and h but also her side characters.
I‘ve read so many mafia romances over the course of last year that at some point they all start blending together.
Royal Flush stood out among the books read due to Anna‘s writing.
I loved Katya as a heroine who is headstrong, sassy, confident right to bone.
She knows who she is and is unwavering unless it comes to family.
And her relationship with her parents plays a big role.
That and her inability to accept help, to show herself vulnerable.
The dynamic between her and Angelo, who is the capodecina for the Las Vegas Familia, is pure fire. The attraction is instant and their conversations, the little details, the touches, the sex... sheesh. I needed a cigarette when I finished... the book. C‘mon guys. 👀

Royal Flush was a sensational story revolving around Katya, a badass, startling independent college student and Angelo, the extremely desirable mobster! This story was terrific. Where do I even begin?
The story started when Katya stumbled upon the Myriad casino, owned by Angelo. And what drew her out was her mastery to count cards that intrigued Angelo. I cannot stress enough how magnificent the plot was. Anna snapped when she wrote this one, though I haven't read her other books now I plan on doing that.
The characters in this book were out of the fucking world. Katya, I loved her from the opening. She had a fire in her that stood her out throughout the book. Angelo, Gosh, the handsome hunk!!! He was something else. I loved every bit of him, I submit 😩 like I always say, if only he was real 🥺🥺 Both of the characters were overpowering in this story which outdid the steam and angst! Their chemistry aroused from the beginning and my heart panged when we were slowly edging towards the end. I'm just glad and relaxed that both of them, despite the adversity ended up together because I couldn't stand them apart. ❤️

I took my sweet ass time to read it but let me tell you I am cursing myself to get to it so late. THIS BOOK IS EVERYTHING.
I've read all Anna's books but this one will hold a place in my heart forever and ever. Katya is everything that a woman should be. All powerful in her own way, independent and focused on her own goals and ideas for a better future. And together with Angelo who's all businessman but also someone who lets Katya be who she wants to be, they created a WONDERFUL COUPLE.
The steam, the intensity of certain scenes and the emotions put in others have been everything I've been looking for in a book. And the fact that the plot focuses on the cards (which I have never read about before) makes it all the more unique. You can feel that the author knows what she's talking about. Even if I barely understood anything about the game of blackjack which I've never played in my life. I love reading about new things for me. And Anna delivered!
5 stars isn't enough but since it's all I can do, here it goes. But read it for yourself if you want to see just how amazing this book is. I promise it's worth it

This is my first read by this author and I absolutly loved it. When I first read the Blurb, I thought to myself that the book sounded interesting so I gave it a shot.
I loved Katya and Angelo, something about them and their relationship sucked me in. Something about the powerness of Angelo and Katya fierceness that was compelling and made me want more.
If you are looking for a Mafia read, look into this one. You won't be disappointed.
Now to reading all of Anna Widzisz books that I can find.

I think I want to play cards, Katya knows how to play and count cards and it puts her on Angelo Gaspari radar as she thinks she's going to walk out of his casino with his money, no little girl you wont. Fast paced with for me a great storyline, this is the second book I have read by this author and cannot fail to be impressed by her writing , hot read for me.

Anna Widzisz has been on my TBR list and this is my first novel and ARC of her’s. It’s safe to say, I will now be reading all of her books because I need more! I am absolutely in love with the style of story telling. Yes, this is a mafia romance but it doesn’t focus on the institution but rather the man.
The evolution of Katya and Angelo is to die for! Slowly we see Angelo’s rough exterior soften only for Katya. While we see Katya’s independence and pride tremble. Despite their changes these two compliment one another and reinforce their strengths.

So, in this book, we are following Angelo who is part of the Sicilian Mob, and Katya who currently is a college student, she has one talent and that is counting cards, she is also Russian.
The story begins with Kat deciding to count cards at a new Casino owned by Angelo, this decision unfolds into a sequence of events that will end up placing Angelo and Kat at different ends of the playing board.
Here are my issues with this book, although I enjoyed it and it was a fast-paced read with a very interesting story.
This is a mafia book, which means that we have the big Mafia man that we all know, these sort of characters are always the same, we know them, know what to expect and how the character will act because this sort of Mafia man seems all cut from the same cloth. What really matters at the end of the day having such a know character is the counterpart, who are you pairing your character with to enhance the story to try and make it different.
I truly think the author tried to give us something different with the character of Katya but it just wasn't enough. She only had three personality traits
1- Think that everyone who lays eyes on her wants to fuck her
2- Being snarky
3- Being stubborn.
Everything that goes down in the book actually is based on Kat's inability to stop being so damn stubborn, literally is everything there is. She complains over and over of having to deal with the cards life has dealt her but in reality, her life could be so much easier if she just stopped for five seconds and listened instead of doing whatever she felt like because in the end the entire book was based on her being too prideful to speak up and when the time came for her to do it, she didn't. She was not a strong main character at all, I think she needed to be a little bit more fleshed out and having an actual personality.
I have nothing much to say about Angelo because as I said before he is your typical crazy, bloodthirsty mafia man.
The book did have some interesting side characters that I enjoyed and the story itself wasn't bad actually it was intriguing and engaging once you overlooked some things.
The Smut was really good and part of what hold me over during parts where I was just rolling my eyes.

Katya is sassy, independent, bold, and honestly so inspirational (even as a fictional woman). I loved that Katya's character was by no means meek when matched with a powerful mafia boss. I loved both of them as individuals and a couple. They brought out the best in each other and were such complex, multi-layered characters. Anna has done a great job in developing these characters.
This book was captivating. Serious, from the very first page I was hooked and could not put it down. What an emotional rollercoaster. Royal Flush is intriguing, dark, and full of unexpected twists and turns. This book was well written with a unique storyline and very interesting characters.

Ok I have some mixed feelings about the book some good and some bad let’s start with the good since I liked the book overall. I loved Katya she was such a bad ass and really knew how to hold her ground. And I really enjoyed her and Angelo’s relationship it was actually really cute and amazing and I loved ten pace of the book as well. But I feel like it was kind of an insta love even when it was not I feel like they were like thinking I loved u by the 3 time meeting which it just crazy. And how he just forgave her for almost getting in jail for life like how are u just ok with that?!! And I also feel like the ending was cut short. And was a bit rushed like one minute they are not talking and fighting and the next it cuts to 3 years later Ana they are getting married. But besides for those small companies I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be reading more from this author agin.

From the first page she took me for a wild and intense ride into the dark world of mafia, casinos, counting cards. Twisted plot, full of intrigue, calculated actions, violence and brutality. As well as romance filled with pure and raw lust, passion, sexy and spiced up, proving again that age is just a number, specially when love comes around. Let’s not forget about the main characters. Kickass, fierce, stubborn and independent Katya, who’s not only smart, sassy and has a right attitude to stand her ground and not being afraid to go against Angelo, feared by everyone mobster, who's another level of alpha asshole. The one who will do anything to get what he wants and protect it, even if in the beginning it’s unconsciously. The chemistry, tension and constant banter between them was off the charts, kept in suspense waiting for what would happen next and sent me on the emotional rollercoaster.

One girl gets caught counting cards by the owner of the place... and soon the two will find that they are in for more than they ever though, Katya has always worked hard to achieve her goals, she needs money to help pay off her school tuition and help mom move back to Russia. Her biggest flaw? She refuses to ask anyone for help, even if it means she’ll suffer. Angelo has always done whats needed to be done to rule in his world. He doesn’t tolerate less.. and yet when this girl has the audacity to cheat him out of his money and flirt with him? He can’t help but find her charming. Soon Katya and Angelo find themselves circling around each other, but other forces are at work and loyalties will be tested. They’ll have to see if they have what it takes to make it out together.

The only issue is the age gap, while there is a gap I was expecting something larger. Many people think 10 plus years is major but not to me. The writing style was unique as were the names of the characters. It's always the same handful of names but this story has different names. The plot was pretty good with this being my first time reading about a card shark. I love going in blind so I didn't pay attention to the name or blurb of this book. Once I saw it was mafia, dark, and age gap I knew I needed to read. Katya is bold and funny as hell as she cheats a mob boss at cards. That was the highlight. While there were many twists and turns that is what will stick with me.

This is my first reading this author and for the most part it was an ok book. The main character Katya was sooo annoying. Her tough girl attitude was a bit ott. Angelo was the definition of typical mafia boss. There wasn’t anything really special that stuck out with this book. Been there done that like so many other mafia style books.
I read this book as a recommendation from FB. I did like the author’s writing style and I think I will read more of her books in the future.

DNF I had anticipated for this book for the longest time and I’m sad to say it was disappointing. I tried so hard to find this book interesting but it just wasn’t for me l. It didn’t grab my attention at all
