Shake Shack’s mission is to Stand For Something Good®. That means sourcing premium ingredients from reputable ranchers, farmers, and purveyors, and working with animal welfare experts to establish and ensure ethical and humane practices—raising the bar for ourselves and the restaurant industry as a whole.

We are currently sourcing 100% cage-free eggs for both the US and UK supply chains. Since introducing Shake Shack breakfast in 2013, in the US we’ve sourced cage-free eggs for our Egg N’ Cheese sandwiches. In 2016, we deepened our commitment to animal welfare by converting all products in the US that contain eggs to use only cage-free eggs. As a company with locations all around the world, we are striving to advance the sourcing in our global supply chain to include 100% cage-free eggs as well, while maintaining the quality and standards we are known for.

Due to the business impact of COVID-19, we have purchased less eggs than in years prior, but have remained committed to cage-free eggs in the US and UK.100% of shell eggs are currently cage-free and 100% of liquid eggs are currently cage-free within our US supply chain.

As part of our continued commitment to premium ingredients, we use 100% Angus beef with no added hormones or antibiotics in our burgers and flat-top dogs, and our chicken. Our crinkle cut fries contain zero artificial ingredients, and our frozen custard uses only real sugar–no high-fructose corn syrup.
