Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege August Major: Everything We Know So Far

Natus-Vincere has come to be the last and 4th group in Europe to lock in an invitation to the Six Major in Mexico following the loss of 7-4 to Team Vitality -- their only competitors for the spot against Team Secret.

With a fourth-place finish at the end of the 2020 EUL Season and a first-place finish during the first stage of 2021 Na'Vi will be keen to prove their worth internationally after missing out on the 2021 Six Invitational. It is important to be aware of Beastcoast vs. TSM Upset in Rainbow Sixs.

They attend this event alongside the European teams of G2 Esports, Team Empire and Team BDS leaving just four teams out of the 16 left to be determined, two each from NA and APAC.

In August, the second international Rainbow Six event in 18 months will take place to conclude Stage 2.

Six Major tournaments will be played for the first time since May 2020's debut of the new format. Mexico will host 16 teams that will fight for the title and be its first Six Major champion since 2019.

Location and Schedule

Location

The Major will take place in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico.

For safety reasons due to safety reasons, the event is not open to the public like the Six Invitational 2021.

Schedule

The video game tournament will take place between 16 and 22 August. It is an event lasting seven days.

There will be four rounds of double round-robins followed by a playoff phase beginning on Friday. One elimination will be held.

This means that the grand final without a lower bracket will not have any map advantage to either party and we will likely have an unbroken Best-of-5 (Bo5) game.

Prize Pool and SI Points Allocation

The Major's net prize pool will be equivalent to $500,000. Six Invitational (SI), Points will be also available to all 16 teams.

Beastcoast surprises TSM in NAL game

TSM was defeated 7-3 by beastcoast in the final of one game in Rainbow Six Siege's revamped NAL.

Beastcoast had to play many close games, and had several close calls. Charlie "rooty" Tran and Joseph "Phozzo" Eisenmann had exceptional individual games.

TSM are the 2020 NAL Finals champions, and they are the consensus favourite going into the 2021 Six Invitational scheduled for May. They're one of the top teams in the world, and the North America homers would say TSM is the best team around the globe. Beastcoast, on the other hand have just joined the NAL from NACL the second-tier of the R6.

This could be a sign of "changing the guard", but it's too early to know who will be able to be competitive with the top teams in the NAL long-term. TSM remains a top team that has top-of-the-line talent. However, they made several uncharacteristic mistakes.

Beastcoast will go into a bye, and TSM will need to adjust and reconfigure their team in preparation for an event in the marquee against XSET on March 31.
