CP Group's chicken plant in Vietnam starts shipping to Japan

Thai company eyes exports to 10 nations from Southeast Asia's largest facility

CP Group's chicken processing plant in Vietnam is the largest in Southeast Asia. 

HANOI -- Thai conglomerate Charoen Pokphand Group on Tuesday brought Southeast Asia's largest chicken processing plant, located in Vietnam, fully online as it begins exports to Japan.

The plant in Binh Phuoc province was built with an initial investment of $250 million and has a monthly production capacity of 5,000 tonnes. The workforce of about 2,500 will expand as production ramps up further.
