Cuttly Campaigns Aggregated Analytics for All Your Tagged Links — One Dashboard, Complete Picture

Individual link analytics tell you how one link performed.
Cuttly Campaigns tells you how your entire campaign performed.

Tag any number of short links with the same campaign label. Cuttly automatically groups them and shows their combined analytics — total clicks, device breakdown, country data, referrer sources, hourly engagement patterns and top-performing links — all in one aggregated view.

No spreadsheets. No manual aggregation. No switching between links to add up the numbers. Everything for a campaign, in one place.

The Problem Campaigns Solves

A real marketing campaign rarely uses a single link. A product launch might involve a dozen short links — different ones for email, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, SMS, printed QR Codes, paid ads and influencer partnerships. Each link is tracked individually in Cuttly, which is valuable. But the question you actually want to answer is not "how did the Instagram link do?" — it is "how did the launch campaign do overall?"

Without campaign aggregation, answering that question means opening each link one by one, writing down the numbers, and adding them up manually. For a campaign with twelve links across six channels, that is twelve separate analytics views and a spreadsheet you have to maintain yourself.

Cuttly Campaigns eliminates that entirely. Every link tagged with the same label is automatically included in the campaign view — and the view updates in real time as clicks arrive.

How to Create a Campaign in Cuttly

There is no separate campaign creation step. A campaign exists as soon as two or more links share the same tag.

Step 1 — Shorten Your Links

Create each short link for your campaign in the usual way: log in to your dashboard, paste the destination URL, click Shorten.

Step 2 — Add a Campaign Tag to Each Link

After shortening, open the link options and add a campaign tag. Use the same tag for every link in this campaign — for example #spring-launch or #email-q2-2026. The tag is case-sensitive and must match exactly across all links you want grouped together.

Step 3 — Open the Campaigns Dashboard

In your Cuttly dashboard, open the Campaigns section. All active campaign tags appear here. Click any campaign tag to open its aggregated analytics view.

Step 4 — Read the Campaign Analytics

The campaign view shows all analytics data aggregated across every link carrying that tag — updated in real time. Add a new link to the campaign at any time by tagging it with the same label; it appears in the campaign view immediately.

A consistent tag naming convention makes campaign management significantly easier. A format like #[channel]-[campaign]-[period] — for example #email-spring-launch-2026 — helps you distinguish campaigns and find them quickly as your library grows.

What Cuttly Campaigns Shows

The campaign analytics dashboard aggregates the following data across all tagged links:

Analytics Data What It Shows
Total clicks All clicks across every link in the campaign combined
Unique clicks First click per device across all campaign links
Hourly heat map Click activity by day and hour — this week vs previous week, for the whole campaign
Referrer sources Social platforms and other referral origins driving campaign traffic
Device type Mobile, Desktop, Tablet breakdown across all campaign clicks
Operating system Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, iPadOS and others
Browser Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge and others
Device brand Apple, Samsung, Google, Xiaomi and others
Language Browser language distribution across campaign audience
Geographic location Country-level distribution of all campaign clicks
Top links Individual links ranked by click volume within the campaign

All data in the campaign view reflects the last 14 days of analytics. This window covers most active campaign periods and ensures the dashboard stays responsive even as campaigns accumulate large click volumes.

How to Use Campaigns Effectively

One Tag Per Campaign — Consistently Named

Every link in a campaign needs the exact same tag. Even a minor difference — #spring-launch vs #Spring-Launch — creates two separate campaigns in Cuttly. Establish a naming convention before starting a campaign and communicate it to everyone on the team who creates links.

Tag by Channel as Well as Campaign

If you want both campaign-level and channel-level visibility, create links with two tags — one for the campaign, one for the channel. For example, a link shared on LinkedIn for the spring launch might carry both #spring-launch and #linkedin. The campaign view shows all links. A channel-specific view shows only the LinkedIn links.

This approach lets you answer both "how did the spring launch do overall?" and "which channel drove the most spring launch traffic?" — from separate campaign views using the same underlying links.

Compare Campaigns Over Time

Create consistently named campaigns across periods — #email-q1-2026, #email-q2-2026, #email-q3-2026 — and you build a comparable campaign history. Each campaign view shows its 14-day performance window. Comparing campaign totals across quarters reveals whether your link strategy is improving, plateauing or declining over time.

Use the Hourly Heat Map for Campaign Scheduling

The campaign-level hourly heat map shows when your campaign audience engages most actively — aggregated across all links, not just one. For a campaign using email, social and SMS simultaneously, the heat map reveals the combined engagement window, which may differ from any individual channel's pattern. Use this to schedule future campaign sends and posts for maximum immediate impact.

Watch the Top Links Ranking

The top links ranking within a campaign view shows which individual links drove the most clicks. For a multi-channel campaign, this typically shows which channel outperformed the others — the email link vs the Instagram link vs the SMS link, for example. This data informs channel mix decisions for the next campaign.

Campaigns and UTM Parameters — Two Complementary Systems

Cuttly campaign tags and UTM parameters serve related but distinct purposes and work best when used together.

System What It Tracks Where Data Appears
Cuttly campaign tag Aggregated clicks at the moment of link click — device, country, referrer, timing Cuttly Campaigns dashboard
UTM parameters Session data after the click — pages visited, time on site, conversions, purchases Google Analytics GA4 Acquisition reports

For any serious campaign, use both. Add UTM parameters to the destination URL before shortening — Cuttly's built-in UTM generator does this in the link options after shortening. Then add the campaign tag. The result: Cuttly shows you who clicked and when across the campaign, GA4 shows you what those people did after clicking.

Who Campaigns Is Built For

Marketing Teams

Running campaigns across email, social, paid and offline simultaneously. Campaigns provides a single view of everything, so reporting does not require manual aggregation across platforms and links.

Agencies

Managing multiple client campaigns simultaneously. Each client's campaign uses a distinct tag. The agency dashboard shows all campaigns; client-facing reports use individual campaign views. No spreadsheet needed to compile the numbers — the campaign view is the report.

Brand Teams

Measuring campaign reach and engagement across channels as a unified metric rather than per-platform. Campaign click volume, device mix and geographic reach give a channel-agnostic view of how a campaign landed with its audience.

Content Creators and Influencers

Managing multiple brand partnerships or content campaigns simultaneously. Each partnership or content series gets its own campaign tag. The aggregate view shows sponsors how their campaign performed without requiring individual link access.
