Teams & Roles
Cuttly teams give multiple users a shared workspace for managing links under shared domains — with five distinct roles that define exactly what each member can see and do.
What Is a Team in Cuttly?
A team in Cuttly is a dedicated, separate workspace for managing links within a given project or organisation. Each team has its own dedicated dashboard, its own API, its own custom domain configuration, its own link library and its own analytics — completely separate from the owner's personal Cuttly account.
Links added to a team dashboard are visible only within that team's dashboard. They are not accessible from other teams or from the personal account dashboard. Within the team, access is governed by role-based permissions assigned to each member.

Subscription: Who Needs a Team Plan
Only the team owner's account needs a Team or Team Enterprise subscription. Members invited to the team do not need their own paid Cuttly subscription to participate in the team — the team plan on the owner's account covers team functionality for all invited members.
The Five Roles in Cuttly Teams
Every team member is assigned exactly one of five roles. The role determines all permissions within the team. Roles can be changed by team members with the appropriate permission.

Role Descriptions
- OWNER. Full control — every permission including adding custom domains to the team, managing TRAI Tracking HEADERs, team removal, Registry access, and all other settings. The account that creates the team is the Owner by default.
- ADMIN. Near-full control — all permissions except: adding custom domains, adding TRAI Tracking HEADERs and team removal. Can generate API keys, manage team members and access the communicator.
- MODERATOR. Operational role — can invite and manage members (including assigning roles), use short link features, access the tracker database, generate CSV exports and view statistics. Cannot manage domains, API keys or the communicator.
- USER. Standard creator — can create and use short links, view team links and view click statistics. Cannot manage team membership or settings.
- VIEWER. Read-only — can see team links and view click statistics. Cannot create links or take any management actions.
What Changes with Team Access vs Individual Accounts
- Shared team dashboard. Separate from the personal account dashboard — links created in the team are visible only in the team dashboard.
- Shared branded domains. Custom domains added to the team are available to all members with link creation permissions.
- Shared link library. Links created by any team member in the team dashboard are visible to all members according to their role.
- Dedicated team API. The team has its own API separate from the owner's personal API — for programmatic link creation within the team workspace.
- Team communicator. Built-in messaging for team members within the dashboard (available to Owner and Admin roles).
