How to change the alias / slug of an Action Page?

1. Log in to your Cuttly account and go to the Action Pages section.

2. Find the Action Page you want to edit and click the edit (settings) icon to open the editor.

3. In the editor toolbar on the left side, click the link icon (the first icon at the top of the toolbar).

Cuttly - Change Action Page alias

4. A side panel will slide out showing the current URL of your Action Page (for example: cutt.ly/c/cuttly or your-domain.co/c/your-action). Enter your new alias in the input field.

5. Click the "Change" button to save. Your Action Page will now be available under the new URL.

Important — URL and QR code: Changing the alias changes the URL of your Action Page. The previous URL will stop working immediately. Any shared links — in emails, social media posts, printed materials, or other channels — will need to be updated to the new URL.

QR codes are also affected. A QR code is generated for a specific URL. If you change the alias after generating a QR code, the QR code will no longer work. You will need to generate a new QR code for the updated URL and replace it everywhere it has been used.

FAQ

Does changing the alias break the QR code?

Yes. A QR code is generated for a specific URL. When you change the alias, the URL changes and the previously generated QR code will no longer redirect visitors correctly. You need to generate a new QR code for the updated URL.

Will the old URL still work after changing the alias?

No. Once you change the alias, the previous URL will stop working immediately. Any links or QR codes pointing to the old URL will need to be updated.

Can I choose any alias for my Action Page?

You can set any custom alias as long as it is not already in use. Use clear, memorable words that relate to your campaign or offer — for example cutt.ly/c/spring-sale or your-domain.co/c/launch2026.
